    In order to accomplish the mission of producing one million tonnes by 2010 Hindustan Zinc has announced its projects, after completion of these projects Hindustan Zinc will become one of the largest integrated zinc producer in the world.

New Projects Announced

  • 210,000 tonnes per annum Hydrometallurgical Zinc Smelter at Rajpura Dariba
  • 100,000 tonnes per annum Lead Smelter at Rajpura Dariba
  • Rampura Agucha Mine expansion from 5.00 million tonnes per annum to 6.00 million tonnes per annum
  • Sindesar Khurd Mine expansion from 0.30 million tonnes per annum to 1.50 million tonnes per annum
  • Opening of a new mine at Kayar with an initial capacity of 0.30 million tonnes per annum.
  • 2 x 80 MW Coal based Captive Power Plant at Rajpura Dariba

Projects Delivered

  • 32,000 tonnes per annum of Zinc debottlencking completed in 2003 at Debari & Vizag
  • 29 MW DG Captive Power Plant commissioned in 2003 at Debari
  • Debotlenecking of Rampura Agucha Mine from 1.37 million tonnes per annum to 2.30 million tonnes per annum in 2003 & 2004
  • 35,000 tonnes per annum of Zinc debotlenecking completed in 2004 at Chanderiya
  • 170,000 tonnes per annum Hydrometallurgical Zinc Smelter (Hydro I) commissioned in 2005 at Chanderiya
  • 2 x 77 MW Coal based Captive Power Plant commissioned in 2005 at Chanderiya
  • Rampura Agucha Mine expansion from 2.30 million tonnes per annum to 3.75 million tonnes per annum completed in 2005
  • 50,000 tonnes per annum Ausmelt Lead Smelter commissioned in 2006 at Chanderiya
  • 0.3 million tonnes per annum Sindesar Khurd Mine commissioned in 2006
  • 63.2 MW Wind Energy Projects commissioned in September 2007
  • 170,000 tonnes per annum Hydrometallurgical Zinc Smelter (Hydro II) commissioned in 2007 at Chanderiya
  • Expansion of Rampura Agucha Mine from 3.75 million tonnes per annum to 5.0 million tonnes per annum
  • 88,000 tonnes per annum Zinc debotlenecking at Chanderiya & Debari
