Integrated Village Development

In view of the outcome of the baseline survey conducted by Operations Research Group (ORG) New Delhi in the year 2006, it has been found that more than 73% families was living under extreme poverty and their quality of life was far below the average level. Based on the recommendations of ORG, we have, as per our long term social development philosophy of taking up sustainable development initiatives to improve the quality of life and social well being of the communities where we operate, have put our focus on sustainable holistic development of the operational villages through "Integrated village Development program".

Mid Day Meal Programme

The Mid-Day Meal (Hi Tech Kitchen) project is a joint collaboration with Government of Rajasthan & Naandi Foundation, an NGO in three districts of Rajasthan, namely Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Udaipur..  The objective is to improve the nutritional value, hygiene, teacher's focus on academics and reducing enrollment and increasing retention of children in primary schools. 6 Hi Tech Kitchens are set up in 3 Districts. The day to day operations are taken care by our NGO partner Naandi Foundation.

Computer Education Programme

The Computer Education Programme is being conducted in 200 Government schools and 50 literacy centers in Bhilwara, Udaipur, Chittorgarh and Rajsamand Districts of Rajasthan. The population of these schools is more than 40000 students, of which 40% are girls.1000 computers have been installed in all the identified schools in the respective districts.

Bal-Chetna Anganwadi Project

The Sterlite Bal-Chetna Anganwadi Project is being run in Bhilwara, Udaipur, Chittorgarh and Rajsamand Districts of Rajasthan under PPP model in joint collaboration with government of Rajasthan, District Administration and Sterlite Foundation. 400 Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) have been undertaken, benefiting 13,000 children of age group 0 - 6 years. Vocational Training to Unemployed Rural Youth

It has been initiated at all our units, in collaboration with Rajasthan Mission on Livelihood (RMOL) and SANKALP & Aid-et-Action, to provide skill based training to unemployed rural youth for self employment.
