Socio-economic Projects

We have identified 59 poverty stricken villages to transform them into model one in three phases as under:

Under this programme the activities such as capacity building of Village Development Committees (VDC), farm based initiatives, women empowerment, livelihood, health & nutrition, sanitation, safe drinking water & infrastructure development has been undertaken in joint collaboration with Zila Parishad, Krishi Vigyan Kendrra, District Administration,  local NGOs etc.

After the successful completion of Phase I & II, 32 model villages of Phase I & II have been audited by ORG, New Delhi and they have certified that the quality of life of 72% targeted families of these villages have improved and we may phase out from 70% model villages and remaining 30% model villages need to focus on capacity building of the members of village institution for one more year.

These kitchens provide fresh and healthy meals to more than 182,000 Primary & Secondary school going students of these districts. The cooked food is delivered in Food Grade containers through mobile vans to the remotest schools. The Project has improved the overall school attendance to 90% and girls attendance to 70%. (as per World Bank study).The responsibility to provide well cooked and nutritious meals on time in the remotest schools keeps us and our partners on toes. We are convinced that this tripartite social investment will definitely be one of the prime factors contributing to education.

The basic purpose was to mainstream computer education in state supported schools and develop the subject as a non formal one. This project in collaboration with District Administration/ District Literacy Centre and Sterlite Foundation, Mumbai aims to connect the rural masses to computer literacy. We have also trained more than 250 teachers to teach the students and thus sustaining it in the long run.

In Chittorgarh, under HZL CLIP (Computer Literacy Initiative Project), 50 Literacy centres were connected with the CLIP. The objective is to take up literacy drives through computers. 50 literacy centre volunteers have been trained to take the process forward. In addition kiosks have been installed at these centres, which act as information windows providing basic village information and information on various topics. This innovative effort helped Chittorgarh district bag the coveted 'Satyen Maitri National Literacy Award', which was conferred by the National Literacy Mission, Government of India.

• To improve the attendance of children at Anganwadi centers between the age group of 3-6 years from 29% to 90% by the end of three years.
• To upgrade 90% of the enrolled children between the age group of 3-6 years up to Normal or Grade I by the end of three years.
• To ensure 100% immunization of all enrolled children between the age group of 0-5 years.
• At least 90% of enrolled children at Anganwadi center will achieve minimum learning level of B+ Grade by the end of the three years.
• At least 80% of enrolled eligible children between the age group of 5-6 years will be mainstreamed with formal education.
• To ensure regular Anti natal care (ANC) and Pre natal care (PNC) check ups for pregnant women and lactating mothers.

The youth have been trained under this project in skills including Computer Hardware, Sales & Marketing, Personality Development, Hotel Management, Home Appliance repair, Block Printing, DTP Operator, Quilt articles, Hospitality, Mobile repairing, Automobile repairing and Tie & Die. It is ensured that more than 80% are employed with different local organizations. More than 1,300 rural youths have been trained.
